This dusty scene of Tucson AZ is from the days when horses were the only transportation. The Southern Pacific Railroad reached Tucson 3 years later in 1880.

The ‘Papago’ the local tribe in Southern Arizona are in Tucson selling their baskets and clay pots to the townsfolk. Today the ‘Papago’ have re-claimed their traditional name of Tohono O’odham, meaning desert people.
